USDT AML Check: How to Check a USDT Wallet
A USDT AML check evaluates a supported USDT wallet address for available sanctions and blockchain-risk indicators. Because USDT exists on multiple networks, a useful check begins by confirming the exact address and chain and then reviewing the screening result in the context of the customer and transaction.

1. Confirm the USDT network
USDT is issued on multiple blockchain networks. Confirm whether the transaction uses Ethereum, Tron, or another supported network before screening. The same asset name does not make addresses or transaction histories interchangeable across chains.
2. Verify the wallet address
Copy the address from a reliable source and verify it before submitting the check. A mistyped or substituted address means the screening result does not describe the wallet involved in the intended transaction.
3. Run the wallet screening
Use a screening provider that supports the relevant network. Available results may include sanctions indicators and blockchain-risk categories such as scams, stolen funds, mixers, high-risk services, or other attributed activity. Provider coverage and classifications vary.
4. Review what caused the result
Do not stop at a single score. Determine which indicators produced the result, whether exposure is direct or indirect when that information is available, and whether the activity is relevant to the transaction under review.
5. Add customer and transaction context
Consider who controls or provided the wallet, the purpose and amount of the transaction, expected customer activity, geography, source of funds where appropriate, and any other due-diligence information. A wallet result is one component of the overall AML decision.
6. Document and escalate
Record the address, network, timestamp, screening evidence, investigation, reviewer, and disposition. Elevated or unresolved results should follow the organization's written escalation process before the transaction proceeds when appropriate.
USDT screening with PeakAML
PeakAML supports wallet screening on selected networks and creates a compliance record for the review. Screening coverage should be confirmed for the network being used, and the result should be evaluated within the organization's broader AML and sanctions program.
